Rust & Sap Remover Block for Bonsai Tools

What it is

A rubber cleaning block for bonsai tool blades, made in Japan, 65 × 40 × 10mm. Rubbed along the blade it lifts rust, dried sap and residue off the steel without regrinding the edge.

Why clean blades matter

Dried sap drags on the cut and rust pits the cutting edge; both turn a clean shear into a crush. A cleanly cutting blade leaves wounds that callus faster, which is the point of using good cutters in the first place.

Using it

Rub the block along the flat of the blade until the residue lifts, working over the cutting edge from the spine side, then wipe the blade clean. Use it after sappy work such as pruning pines and figs, and whenever rust spots appear.
